Tali Galaw is a string puppet production, established in 1995, the first and only Filipino marionette group conducting regular performances to promote and professionalize the art of marionette puppetry in the country. It’s plays promote Philippine history, folktale, and environmental protection, good moral and cultural values. A winner of the television program Magandang Tanghali bayan of ABS-CBN Channel 2 portion entitled: “Ipakita mo Papet mo” competition held last April 2000. Tali Galaw marionette show was the official delegate of the Philippines to the 1st ASEAN Puppetry Festival held in Jakarta, Indonesia last December 2006. A participant to the 1st International Marionette Festival in Hanoi, Vietnam last February 2008. A delegate of Yun Lin International Festival Taiwan and a participant to the 1st Philippine Puppetry Festival held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the predecessor of Samahan ng mga Papetir ng Pilipinas. Tali Galaw Marionette Group “The First and only Marionette Group in the Philippines”

Tali Galaw, established in 1995, is the first and only Filipino marionette group conducting regular performances to promote and professionalize the art of marionette puppetry in the country. Its plays promote Philippine history, culture, folktale, environmental protection and good moral values. The group performs in different schools and museums in Metro Manila. Offering a high quality theater to everyone, especially those in places and people who rarely have opportunities to see live performances is one of the groups concern. For several years, Tali Galaw produces hundreds of marionette puppets with Filipino heroes as characters and selling these products in support to the 100 Centennial Celebration of the Philippines. Its mission is to promote the marionette puppetry all over the country and Filipino culture abroad. TWO FILIPINO PUPPETRY GROUPS PERFORM IN HANOI VIETNAM 28 February 2008 – Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam Laura Q. del Rosario reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that two Filipino puppetry groups – the ANINO Shadow Play Collective and TALI GALAW, performed in Hanoi during the 1st International Marionette Festival on 16-23 February 2008. The festival was organized by the Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam. Seventeen puppetry groups from 11 countries participated in the event. TALI GALAW, which uses string puppets, performed the Tinikling, Singkil, Igorot Dance and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. Tali Galaw was established in 1995 by Mr. Danilo Liwanag, Chairman of the Puppeteers Association of the Philippines. Tali Galaw is the first and only marionette theater group in the Philippines, and it plays and promote Philippine history, Culture, Folktale, Environmental protection and Good moral values.
